Real Oviedo and Real Valladolid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Guillermo Almada's federative rights so that the Uruguayan becomes the new head coach of the first team until the end of the season.

After starting his coaching career at Tacuarembó FC, Guillermo Almada later managed River Plate of Montevideo and Barcelona S.C. of Ecuador. In 2019, the coach moved to Mexico to manage Santos Laguna and, later, Pachuca, where he achieved his best results.

There, Almada won an Apertura, a Concacaf Champions League, a Challenger Cup, and a Derby of the Americas with the Tuzos, in addition to securing qualification for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Now, after his stint with Real Valladolid this season, Guillermo Almada arrives in Oviedo, accompanied by his assistant coach, Darwin Quintana, to lead the Club from the capital of the Principality.

The Uruguayan coach will lead his first training session this Tuesday at 3:30 PM and will not make any statements until his official presentation, which will take place in the coming days.
