Real Oviedo defender Simone Grippo appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today ahead of the latest day of training for Los Azules.
Having now overcome his injury problems, the centre back declared that, "I'm fine, I've recovered now. We have worked this week and I am prepared, but now it's up to the Gaffer whether I play or not."
With the first half of the season having now come to an end, the Swiss player analysed the team's performance over the first 21 matches. "We have done a lot of things well. We deserved more points than we have got for the sacrifices we made and the things we did. Our work has to bring us points in the second half of the season."
Asked about the second half of the league season and the possibility of moving closer to the top of the table, Grippo believes that "that demand is there because of the city, the fans, and the club that we are. It is all up to us and how we do things. We need to get good results and win matches now."
Finally, regarding his role in the team, the defender reasoned that "nobody is a guaranteed starter in this squad. There are 25 of us and nobody is untouchable. We all have to prove ourselves through our performances."
