Ganzábal today played host to the fixture between Real Oviedo Vetusta and Unión Popular de Langreo, which formed part of Matchday 21 in the Segunda División B. It ended in a 1-0 victory for the home side.
The ‘Carbayón’ B team emerged for the match with the clear intention of earning the three points. They tried to play their usual possession game and make the most of the finishing of their attackers. The teams alternated control during the first half, although Vetusta had the better chances. ‘Los Azules’ were also very solid in defence, while creating danger at the opposite end. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-0. The second half followed a similar pattern, until the home side took the lead from a set play in the 71st minute. The B team went looking for the equaliser, but the opposition defence and keeper denied them.
Real Oviedo Vetusta will have another chance to get three points next Sunday against Sporting B. The match will take place at 17:00 at the Carlos Tartiere.
