Real Oviedo defender Christian Fernández appeared before the media today after the training session at Tensi.

Following the team’s good performance last weekend in Almendralejo and the existing competition to earn a spot in the starting eleven, Christian Fernández points out that “that's the great thing about this team, there are alternatives and various options. Now we are getting people back and this raises the competition level, something that helps the results continue.”

Regarding the change of location for the training session and how it affects the team’s training, the Cantabrian recognizes that “it is not ideal, but we’ve got to adapt, think about Zaragoza and keep the run going with hard work.”

When asked about Zaragoza and their form throughout the season, Christian mFernández points out that “Zaragoza’s case confirms what the Coach said about how challenging the competition is.” Moreover, when talking about the first fixture between the two clubs, the Oviedo defender assured that “it was a painful game. We didn’t play poorly, but the result was unfavorable. We are going there cautious, to a difficult pitch. They have changed coaches, but I think that they will be united, press high, and they have dangerous threats like Eguaras and Pombo.“

Talking about the change in the team’s form from the last part of 2018 to now, Christian Fernández believes that “we underwent a metamorphosis by playing on the road. We are optimistic and we want to continue to extend the streak.”

Finally, when asked about the demands of each training session, the Real Oviedo captain concluded that “each session requires everything. It’s true, it happened to me yesterday. You take words at face value and you take it to the extreme. What happened yesterday is typical in football. The Coach understood that and we have to realize that it’s normal.”
