Yoel Bárcenas: “Work hard and get better”

The Panamanian gives great importance to winning, keeping a clean sheet and considers that “we’ve got to keep going and doing things right”

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Real Oviedo winger Yoel Bárcenas spoke with the media gathered at Las Caldas Villa Termal before the first team’s recovery session.

After the victory at the Francisco de la Hera, the Panamanian was “happy” and recognizes that “things are going well and we’ve just got to keep going in this direction.”

Talking about the change in dynamics, Yoel believes that “in December we were playing well, but we weren’t getting the results we wanted. We are still playing well, but now we are scoring. We’ve got to keep it up.”

Asked about adapting to the team and LaLiga, the attacker assures that “the first few months were full of tension, but now I believe that I can get better. We’re taking it step by step, working on it and knowing that each match is different. We have to follow and do what the coach says.”

Facing the next league fixture against Zaragoza in La Romareda, Bárcenas affirms that “I don't believe that we resent the first leg. It was painful, we remember it, but we are going to try to keep on doing things well. They are a great opponent, we respect them.”

Finally, commenting about the importance of keeping the opponent scoreless two matches in a row, Yoel concluded that “winning is difficult, and keeping a clean sheet is even harder. Its good for the team and is a group effort. Work hard and get better, there is no other way. When we win, the week of training is better and we are more joyful.”
