Real Oviedo defender, Oswaldo Alanís, today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

Following the defeat at Granada, the Mexican commented that, “we are fine. It’s true that it’s tough, but as professionals we have to be positive. We are thinking about what’s coming up and what we’ve done well. We have to look for an improvement.”

Regarding the team’s recent matches, in which Real Oviedo have shown some good performances in terms of their play, the defender highlighted that, “we’ve talked about it. We are playing very well, but the smallest errors are costing us. It’s a run of form and if negativity enters our heads then things will get worse. We’ve played well and consistently, but results haven’t backed that up. At difficult times you have to keep pushing forward and pick up points.”

Asked for the feeling around Juan Antonio Anquela, Alanís highlighted that, “the Coach is positive and trying to turn the situation around. We have to keep going and leave everything out there on the pitch. Good things will come. This is football and we have to focus on what happens on the pitch. We have to give everything to back up our work.”

Ahead of this weekend’s match against Málaga, Oswaldo thinks that, “it would be good to finish with a win (before the Winter Break). We are at home and the team is focusing on getting a good result through hard work. We want a win for everything; for what’s coming and for our fans.”

Finally, with respect to the key to turning the situation around, the Mexican international said that, “the most important thing is confidence and believing in ourselves. They say that when things seem darkest, that’s when change is nearest. Results are going to come through hard work, just like in any job,” he concluded.
