El Requexón played host to the match between Real Oviedo Vetusta and Athletic Club B this afternoon, as the ‘Carbayón’ B team picked up their first home victory of the season.

Javi Rozada’s side dominated the match and were very solid in defence, having emerged for the match with the clear intention of getting control of the ball, pressing high up the pitch and creating danger on the wings. ‘Los Azules’ had several chances during the early stages, but Athletic Club B struck first, making the score 0-1. However, despite this setback, Real Oviedo Vetusta didn’t stop trying and got their reward from the boot of Steven, who made the most of a rebound to equalise. The teams went in at halftime with the score 1-1. Vetusta were again in command during the second half and had the best opportunities once more. In the 69th minute, and following a free kick from Lobato, Viti slotted home the winning goal from inside the penalty box.

The win saw Real Oviedo Vetusta secure their first home win of the season, while also extending their unbeaten run to five matches. These three points took the team onto a total of 9, with the next matchday seeing them visit Tudelano.

Javi Rozada’s lads will enjoy a rest day tomorrow, before returning to training on Monday and having further sessions on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week.
