Real Oviedo goalkeeper, Alfonso Herrero, today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

The shot stopper began by evaluating the state of the team after last Sunday’s match, stating that, “we are treating things with the necessary normality. Although we wanted to win, I don’t think we did too badly. This league is like that and I’m sure the good matches will come. We have to have calmness and tranquility. We have to keep cool heads and work to win matches. Next up is Albacete.”

Regarding the next opponent, the keeper highlighted that, “Albacete are in good form and have good players, but we are strong too. It’s time to bounce back and push on, and we have to go into the game with calmness. We need to show that we’re a good team. This season’s only just started. The Segunda is like this and we have to transmit a sense of tranquility, and show that we have things under control. It’s true that we haven’t got the  results we expected, but we have to keep working along these lines, because they’re the right ones.”

With respect to what it means to return to the Carlos Tartiere, Alfonso said that, “we want to show the good feeling we have around the team at home. We want to play fluently and get a win. We don’t have to change anything; just keep working as we have been. We are all pulling in the same direction. We know what we are aiming for and we have to get back on track. We have to keep working to get back to playing well.”

Finally, asked what the B team players can bring to the first team this weekend, in a week in which several Real Oviedo Vetusta players will be called up to the first team matchday squad, Alfonso commented that, “the people from the B team are ready. We know it. If anyone has to play, they’ll do well. Our squad has quality and the lads from the B team have been working well,” he concluded.
