Real Oviedo defender Alejandro Arribas today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
Following last weekend's defeat against Leganés, which saw the team pay the price for conceding against the Madrid-based side, Arribas admitted that "there have been errors as well as successes. Every goal that any team concedes can be because of errors or because the opponent did well. The team had been in good form and doing things well, up until the other day."
Asked what the team's objective is for the rest of the season, Arribas admitted that "we have been trying to fight to be up there. We had found the way of doing so and were working well. We take it day-by-day and we are working. We will take it one game at a time. The next match sees us play the most difficult opponent in the division. We have to get to fifty points and then think about anything else. First and foremost, one objective at a time."
With respect to whether there is a great deal of difference between the teams at the top of the table and the rest, the centre back reasoned that "there is a difference in the points tally, but any opponent can beat any other one. We are going to Mallorca hungry and we will try to bring back three points."
Finally, regarding his chances of coming into the starting eleven due to Christian Fernández's suspension, Arribas commented that "I had been playing and doing well. I've not played for two months now, but I'm available and the Coach will be the one who makes the decision."
