Anquela: “We need to show humility and respect, and be prepared to suffer until the final minute”

The Coach warns of the danger of a Nàstic side who are “the team to have earned most points away from home”, in front of a Tartiere “which is key for us”

Real Oviedo Head Coach, Juan Antonio Anquela, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón, after the team had trained behind closed doors this morning.

The Coach began as usual, by analysing the state of the team going into the Nàstic match, saying, “the team is looking good for Sunday. We won’t have Viti available, as he’s taken a knock to the knee, while Olmes is slowly starting to be able to do more in training. Everyone else is ready and we hope that they will all be available.”

With respect to Sunday’s game against the Catalan side, Juan Antonio Anquela believes that, “it will be a very difficult match. We are going to play against Nàstic, who are the team to have won most games away from home. That’s not down to luck. They are a strong and organised side, who play at a high level. They are particularly solid and have a good attack. Everything comes down to small details for us, and we will have to suffer until the final minute. This is the Segunda División, and name alone is not enough to win. We have to fight, with humility and respect, and compete in every match.”

Regarding what he expects to see from Real Oviedo against Nàstic, Anquela explained that, “I would like the team to be at the same level as they were against Lugo, while doing more in attack. I am sure that the next match will require patience and knowledge of what to do at all times. We can’t drop off, and we have to make the most of what we have.”

Finally, when asked about the fine atmosphere he expects to see at Real Oviedo’s home, Anquela highlighted that, “our fans are the key for us, and we live off of them. Our fans are engaged, and we need them. We haven’t won any games comfortably, but when we’ve won it’s because of their support. I want a perfect harmony between the team and the crowd. We need to get our fans hooked.” In addition, talking about the fact the next two matches are at home, the Coach said that, “we can only take them one game at a time. They won’t be easy fixtures. We mustn’t kid ourselves. We need to be consistent and not let up, but we are not superior to anybody else,” he concluded.
