Real Oviedo picked up a point to add to the total. The side took home a goalless draw from their visit to Los Pajaritos, preserving their place in the playoff positions, in front of more than 800 supportive fans in the stands in Soria.

The only change made to the starting eleven by Fernando Hierro was the introduction of Lucas Torró in place of Linares, in a match which began with few chances but great competitiveness. Real Oviedo’s first opportunity came from a free kick in a wide area, swung in by Susaeta but denied by the Numancia defence. Capilla fired just over the top from distance for the hosts before Susaeta failed to convert Christian Fernández’s cross from the left wing. Juan Carlos intervened to deny Julio Álvarez’s direct free kick, meaning that the teams went in at halftime with the game still goalless.

The home side came swiftly out of the blocks in the second half, but Real Oviedo withstood the pressure, with Fernando Hierro bringing on Michu to add cutting edge in attack. He had the clearest Real Oviedo chance of the second half. Saúl Berjón played a pass into the six-yard box from the by-line, but, while Michu managed to beat the goalkeeper, it was denied on the line by a home defender.

The end result was the points being shared ahead of Real Oviedo’s trip back home, where they will train tomorrow at 10:30 at El Requexón.
