Real Oviedo Head Coach, Álvaro Cervera, appeared in the Press Room following the draw with Real Sporting de Gijón. The Gaffer first assessed the match and pointed out that “the result is fair, but the way it came about isn't. Given the way the match went, yes, it’s fair. We did well in the first half, and we had many opportunities. In the second half they made changes and there we struggled to kill the game. We did things wrong. They deserved to score a goal, but those types of passages of play are hard to accept. You can’t change the result of a match based on that type of passage of play."

“We wanted to introduce pace with the changes, but we didn’t have that on the bench. We lacked speed on the inside, and we tried to add that with the changes, but we kept going in from the wings. We were set on attacking Sporting from the inside, and that’s where we got it wrong,” highlighted Álvaro Cervera concerning the second half.

Asked about Sergi Enrich, the Coach expressed that “he has always been the same player. Magnificent and he gives everything he has on the pitch.” Lastly, Álvaro Cervera spoke about the derby and about what it’s like to experience these types of matches. “It’s beautiful and full of colour, and it generates a lot around the region. It is intense and it is beautiful to experience,” he concluded.
