Real Oviedo and Villarreal CF have reached an agreement for striker Álex Forés to join the Asturians on a loan deal running until June 2026, with an option to make the move permanent.
Álex Forés Mendoza is 24 years old and was born on 12th April 2001 in Real de Montroy (Valencia). Having come through youth team football in Valencia, Forés joined the Levante UD academy aged eleven, before later continuing his development at Real Madrid. In the 2018/19 season he joined Villarreal CF, representing several of their youth sides, before making his LaLiga Hypermotion debut during the 2022/23 campaign. He played more than 30 matches and scored two goals for Villarreal B.
However, that season was only the beginning, and the following campaign saw Álex Forés score 16 goals in the second tier, becoming one of the main components of Villarreal B's attack. He spent the second half of the 2024/25 season with Levante UD, scoring 5 goals in 18 matches.
A powerful, mobile striker who is good with his back to goal, Álex Forés stands out thanks to his goalscoring instict and commitment, qualities which he will now make available to Veljko Paunović's side.
