The Oviedo native has once again demonstrated that his commitment to Real Oviedo is neither fleeting nor temporary. Melendi doesn't just support the team: he carries it in his heart.
This Saturday, at one of the most watched events worldwide, La Velada del Año V, Melendi made history once again. He did so in front of more than 70,000 people at La Cartuja stadium as well as more than four million live viewers on Twitch, by singing on stage while wearing Santi Cazorla's jersey.
But this gesture of good-will towards Oviedo is not an exception, but rather the continuation of a career marked by sincere Oviedista pride. Melendi was the voice and soul behind Volveremos, the song that is now part of our recent history. It has united generations of fans and continues to resonate in every corner of the Tartiere. Also, it is not his only musical creation inspired by Oviedo. The singer from the capital of Asturias has composed the Centenary Anthem, which he will sing live for the first time this Thursday at the Garra Real Fest.
In addition to these musical compositions, Melendi has been responsible for announcing the first kit and Santi Cazorla's return home.
