The second half of the league season got underway for Real Oviedo this afternoon at Las Gaunas, as the Asturians faced UD Logroñés.
Ziganda opted for a starting eleven made up of Femenías; Juanjo, Arribas, Bolaño, Mossa; Sangalli, Javi Mier, Jimmy, Nahuel; Blanco Leschuk and Rodrigo for today's fixture.
The first half saw a slow-tempo encounter marked by stoppages, and Real Oviedo were very well-organised defensively. Logroñés played with greater fluency with the ball, but the team from the capital of Asturias made the most of long passes to threaten Dani Giménez in the home goal. Real Oviedo had the two clearest chances of the opening forty- five minutes, with Rodri hitting the post from the first, before the forward had a goal disallowed for offside.
Lucas came on for Mossa at halftime, just before Grippo replaced Arribas, who departed the field with an injury moments after the restart. The Asturians began to take control of the match, relentlessly seeking a way to break the deadlock, but were unable to convert any of their several chances. The attackers were very involved in the match and pushed Logroñés back. Ziganda brought on Borja Valle and Borja Sánchez to add spark in attack and to try to make the most of their ability to create one-on-ones with the home keeper, as Real Oviedo pushed forward. Tejera was the final substitute used by Los Azules, who just couldn't find the finishing touch today.
Real Oviedo added another point to the tally today and will face Albacete at the NMR Carlos Tartiere next time out.
