Real Oviedo Head Coach Cuco Ziganda appeared in the Press Room this morning ahead of Sunday's fixture in Cartagena.
He began by saying that "we will look to get the best out of whoever plays since Viti is not available. Every player has different strengths, good points, and weaknesses. We will decide after taking everything into account."
Regarding the next opponent, Ziganda said that "I've not studied the statistics, but I imagine that almost all teams are better at home than away. That's clear with ourselves and with Cartagena. They have a lot of attacking threat and are doing very well. They've got some wins where we might not have done when we had them in our grasp. We would like to be more confident and perform at our best. We need to admit it to ourselves and take it in the same way that we do at home."
Luck is always necessary, but the Coach argued that "you have to look for it. We have all the excitement in the world, and are obliged to fight but also enjoy it, as we work towards our objective. We are only thinking about ourselves and about putting in a great performance, not much else. We have to be well-prepared and make this final effort. We're in a situation which invites you to go for it, with all the strength of the group."
Asked about Cartagena's style of play, Ziganda commented that "I don't know whether it's better for us or not. They feel comfortable, free, and score a lot of goals against good teams, like they did against Eibar. We have a lot of respect for them, but are thinking about ourselves. We are convinced and excited about what's coming up."
With respect to a change in formation and the different options available to him, he stated that "it's not clear in my mind yet. Training sessions and the way people come on from the bench plays a part in my decisions."
