El Sotón played host to Matchday 34 for Real Oviedo Vetusta today, as they triumphed 1-0 away from home against Lenense Proinastur.
The team went into today's encounter with a starting eleven made up of Berto Hórreo; Marc Alegre, Javi Moreno, Lucas Laso, Osky; Yayo, Mangel, Álex Cardero; Nnoshiri, Eloy Ordóñez and Javi Cueto.
The first half was an intense affair. Both teams had a lot at stake, and that was apparent in their performances. The side from Pola de Lena had the first chance of the match, with a powerful effort which struck the post. The B team woke up following the scare and began to create chances. Los Azules dominated the encounter, while Lenense looked to long balls to threaten the Vetusta defence. Eloy would be the man who broke the deadlock for Jaime Álvarez's side just before halftime, and the two teams went in for the interval with the score 1-0.
The match completely changed tempo after the break. Lenense went in search of an equaliser, while Vetusta struck the woodwork three times in their attempts to seal the victory. Joselu and René were the first substitutes used. The best chance of the second half was a double opportunity for Javi Cueto, whose effort struck the goalkeeper's face and the woodwork. Chus came on in the next change, before Victor Matovu and Pedregal also entered the fray. The match ended with a good opportunity for Chus.
The B team added three further points to the tally today, and now have one fewer match remaining. They will face CD Covadonga next time out.
