Arturo Elías and his family returned to the Carlos Tartiere after four years, where they were greeted by one of the largest attendances of the season, with everyone aware of the importance of the match against Leganés. Ziganda opted for a 4-4-2 formation once more, with Obeng and Bastón leading the line.
Los Azules dominated the majority of the first half, although Femenías was called into action to prevent one away attack. The best chances of the half saw Borja Sánchez produce some fine solo play, and Obeng's effort go over the bar.
With even greater drive, both in the stands and on the pitch, the goal finally arrived in the second half. Borja Bastón headed home to score a goal which would prove enough to secure three vital points for the team. Ziganda made substitutions to strengthen the centre of the pitch and freshen the team up, with Javi Mier, Sangalli, Joni Montiel, Jimmy and Mossa also featuring. The match ended with the team and fans in unison, and with the supporters showing complete joy and bidding farewell to the team with chants of ¡sí se puede! (Yes we can!).
