Real Oviedo Head Coach Cuco Ziganda this morning discussed his team's week and the state of his players. "We are all fully recovered and full of desire. Nobody is showing any sign of not being at 100%, nor needing any treatment or anything else. Except from the two suspensions we are all fine."
Asked about the week and the pre-match atmosphere, Ziganda said that "the atmosphere is contagious. As much as you try to get away from it, it's impossible for everything surrounding the match not to reach you. Of course you notice it. We all have that special feeling in our stomachs. We are hungry for Saturday to arrive and to make our fans happy."
With respect to how the two teams go into the match, Ziganda stated that "I'm not detecting any 'euphoria' about the league position. In our case we are completely clear about how we want to approach it, live it, and play it. The best evidence is in feeling what our fans ask of us and what they want to see. I am clear that we have to play it and live it in a special way. We are fortunate to be able to do so. We are fortunate and have the opportunity to make a lot of people happy. They are experiences that stay with you for your whole life. We want to make our fans very happy."
Regarding the victory over Leganés, Ziganda said that "when the match finishes you think about the fact that there are fewer games remaining. The final third of the season is when objectives are determined. We aren't stopping and have to keep pushing forward. These victories bring excitement and you can feel it when you see how the stadium was on Sunday. Those are feelings which spread to us. We don't want to stop where we are. We want to keep living with this happiness and doing things well."
With respect to tomorrow's open-doors training session at the Tartiere, the Gaffer believes that "it will give a boost in energy to everyone. If they aren't allowed to go to the match, they will want the chance to cheer us on. We are very grateful because everything they transmit to us helps. It's contagious. We have to battle and fight for it and we have to give every ounce of our energy in doing so."
Discussing the next opponent, Sporting, Ziganda said that "I suppose that they will be motivated with their fans there. They will be very hungry to win the match, just like we are. I imagine it will be an even match, but we have to be prepared for any scenario. Their fans are going to push them on."
