Real Oviedo Captain Mossa appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón as Ziganda's side went back to work.
The Valencian began by underlining the importance of last weekend's victory over Leganés, reasoning that "we are in a period of the season where there is a countdown and every match is vital. Leganés came here with the aim of moving into the playoff picture. It was an important win in order to reinforce the idea we have and the objective we have in mind."
Regarding Saturday's clash with Sporting de Gijón and its importance for the fans, Mossa highlighted that "it's not just another game, it's a derby. It's special and we know what it represents. The derbies are different. At the end of day if I tell you it's just another three points then I'm not telling the truth. We can't do a lot on the footballing level, but we have to prepare for it as a derby on a mental level."
Asked about Sporting's decision to not send any tickets for Real Oviedo fans, the full back admitted that "it makes me very sad that they can't be with us. We've played derbies there and filled that corner of the stadium, and felt incredible backing. We all know what the derby here was like. We have to give a voice to the fans who pay the price of these decisions. The fans would have gone to support us. The more difficult they make things for them, the more they respond, and they won't let us feel alone. We are Real Oviedo, and even if they aren't allowed to be there they won't let us feel alone. We are going to feel strong, with a lot of people behind us. When the match finishes we want them to be proud of us."
With respect to the unity felt between the stands and the team last weekend, Mossa highlighted that "I got goosebumps. You can feel the unity and the excitement from the fans. They have the right to get excited. We are excited about what's coming up and we want to have a nice season. The union with the supporters is key. We want them to spread their excitement to us and push us on."
Asked how the squad is approaching the week leading into the derby, the defender stated that "we let them feel what a derby is and how important it is to our fans. Anywhere you go they let you know it's a different match. We have to focus on ourselves, that's the most important thing."
Finally, going into the final stage of the season, Mossa reasoned that "the key is to take it one game at a time. That's the reality of it. There are less matches left now, less margin for error, and every point counts. We have to get as many points as possible and whoever makes fewest mistakes will be in there."
