Real Oviedo winger, Viti Rozada, visited the Press Room this morning following the training session at El Requexón.

The Asturian began by praising the team’s performance in the last match against Granada, saying that “we already knew that they were a great side, and overall we were good. The team competed, and had the game lasted five more minutes we would have won. As long as we are still alive we’ll keep fighting. We’ll fight until the last minute.”

In addition, when asked about how to approach games against teams at the top of the table, Viti noted that “we are competing very well. The team has shown it has a lot of character in the last two matches and that it knows how to play football. We have to continue with the same philosophy, compete in every game and only focus on Málaga. Nobody should write us off as dead, for we will be right there fighting.”

On an individual level, Viti is “doing very well, trying to train to the fullest, and when I have the opportunity to play I want to take advantage of as many minutes as possible.” Viti also spoke about what Sergio Egea has asked of him. “He told me to exploit my pace, that I’m here because I’ve earned it, and to take advantage of one-on-ones when I get the chance. He also told me to be calm in the final third, and to put in good crosses.”

When asked about Vetusta’s fine season, Viti stressed that “they have a great team and they’ve been the best B team in history, which speaks for itself. There are some very good players and just like Jimmy, any of them who come into the first team add quality.”

Finally, when asked about his work and Monday's game at La Rosaleda, the youth-academy product stated, “what I have to do is work as I always have, and do my best if the opportunity to play arises. Málaga is up there for a reason, but we have to think about ourselves and do things well. If we are focused and play with intensity, we have a good chance of winning the game. We don’t look at the other results because it’s useless if we don’t do our job, which is to win,” he concluded.
