Real Oviedo Head Coach, Sergio Egea, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today.

The Argentine began by assessing the state of players currently undergoing the recovery process, assuring that “Omar seems fine. Yesterday’s incident wasn't too worrying, but we’ll see tomorrow. Omar’s a great footballer and can give us a lot. The recurrence of his injuries is a shame, but we are hoping that he will be able to give us a lot. Forlín is fine, but we don’t want to rush anything."

Regarding this past week of work, the 'Carbayón' coach acknowledged that “it is a pleasure to work with this squad; they are very committed. The players are very intense, and you could go anywhere with them. Real Oviedo’s players exalt the virtues of the institution; they have a terrific attitude."

Asked about the message he has transmitted in the changing room, Egea commented that “I am very positive. I always seek to add, because the important thing is to maximise the good things. This is a group effort, and we must cooperate and give everything to compete.”

Ahead of the game at La Rosaleda, the Coach stressed that “Málaga is a great team, with good ideas, and they are built for promotion. That's where they want to be, but we will go there with our identity. There’s nobody that’s better than us. The challenge for our team is to compete. We are feeling good, and will be even better if we can play good football. We must have a good attitude and go out onto the pitch with high self-esteem. The players are in good shape.”

Speaking about possible changes to the starting eleven, Egea stated that “there is still one training session to go, so we shall see. It’s always been said that you shouldn't mess with that which has been working, but we will analyse the situation. The players have been looking good, and anyone can play. We have to go into away matches knowing that we won’t crumble with mistakes, nor become over-confident with successes. Real Oviedo has to be the main protagonist.”

Finally, regarding the pressure in these final matchdays, Egea believes that “people inside this club have a great responsibility, not pressure. The fans are involved, they feel the colours, and that's why we must think of them and make them proud of their team. We are ready to fight for sixth place. We have a tough run-in, but I believe that we are ready to compete and to get the points that we need,” concluded the Argentine.
