Real Oviedo Vetusta played their latest game at El Requexón today, triumphing 6-1 against UP Langreo B.
Real Oviedo’s B team went into the third matchday of the season today with the aims of becoming strong at home and getting back into a winning vein of form. The side lined up with an eleven made up of Marco; Pablo Menéndez, René Pérez, Javi Moreno, Osky; Alex Cardero, Joselu, Yayo; Álvaro Pedregal, Eloy Ordóñez and Javi Cueto.
Jaime Álvarez’s team came out on top in a match in which they dominated from start to finish, not only terms of the danger created but also in terms of the play. Los Carbayones scored the bulk of their goals during the first half. Álvaro Pedregal opened the scoring, before a very busy performance from Javi Cueto saw the forward grab four goals. Los Azules put together a very good first half performance, as they linked up and threatened the UP Langreo B goal, forcing the visitors to work hard defensively.
The game didn’t change too much after the interval. Vetusta emerged the stronger side once more, although Langreo did push further forward after making several changes. Jaime Álvarez turned to his bench and brought on Isaac, Vanderson, Merayo, Conceiçao and Mangel. The Brazilian forward had to be replaced after suffering a knock in one passage of play. Iván Conceiçao scored the final goal for the hosts, before UP Langreo B cut the deficit slightly.
Los Azules remain strong at El Requexón, picking up three points once more and putting in a good performance. They also gave further debuts to under-19 players, including Marco today. The B team will be back in action this Wednesday when they travel to Tuilla.
