The first week of the league season has begun with a tradition being upheld for another year. Following the morning training session, the Real Oviedo first-team squad made its annual trip to Covadonga, where a floral offering was made to ‘La Santina’, as well as an official shirt for the current season being presented.

The expedition to the Royal Site of Covadonga was headed by club Vice President Manuel Paredes. Real Oviedo Chaplain Santiago Heras offered a mass, before captains Saúl Berjón, Nereo Champagne, Sergio Tejera and Christian Fernández presented a floral wreath and this season’s shirt to La Santina.

Following the religious act, the Real Oviedo first-team squad hosted a bonding meal. In addition, the club made the most of the trip to the Royal Site to deliver last season’s shirts to the children and youngsters in Escolanía de Covadonga Choir School.
