Mossa: "Winning Mentality"

The full back believes that the key lies in “valuing these three points as if they were the last ones, and then doing the same each week”

Real Oviedo left back Mossa appeared in the Press Room this morning, after the team had undergone a demanding morning training session at El Requexón.

The Valencian began by evaluating the preseason work which, in his opinion, will serve to make the team “as well-prepared as possible, both physically and in terms of concepts. League fixtures are different to what we’ve done up until now. We hope that all the things we’ve worked on will help us go into it in the best way possible. Victories give confidence, whoever they come against. Getting off to a good start makes things easier, but wherever we are playing, we will always go in with a winning mentality.”

With respect to the last fixture and the tactical experiments done by the Coach, Mossa commented that “we still haven’t spoken about the formation we are going to use and we’ve played using several systems. The important thing is for us to have options and the Coach will be the one to tell us the best way to play there.”

Asked about the upcoming opponent and what he expects to face in Riazor, the full back stated that “we know Anquela, but he knows us too. We are in the same boat, but then everyone knows each other in this division. We are going to a great ground to face a good team who will make things hard for us. Sometimes teams seem to take longer to get going. The only secret in this division is to value these three points as if they were the last ones, and then to do the same each week.”

Regarding the fact that the transfer market is still open and the competition gets underway with further moves still a possibility, Mossa highlighted that “we are used to it. It’s football. Players come and go, and what remains is the club. The people who work for Real Oviedo do so so that the club has the best team possible.”

Finally, speaking on an individual level, the defender highlighted that he is “excited and feeling strong. Left back is a position I’ve always wanted to play, even if I haven’t played it so much here. I’m waiting for LaLiga to begin and looking forward to it.”
