Samuel Obeng took part in the semi-final of the Under-23s African Cup of Nations this afternoon, featuring prominently in his side's attempts to seal their trip to Tokyo 2020.
The Ghanaians, who fell behind on the scoresheet, did not lose belief during the match, scoring an equaliser in stoppage time. Obeng played a big part in the first Ghana goal, providing the assist for ex-Real Oviedo player Yeboah. There were no further goals in extra time, and the match went to a penalty shootout, which Cameroon won 3-2. Obeng scored the second spot kick for his side.
Despite their semi-final defeat, Ghana still have a chance of reaching the Tokyo Olympics, should they achieve third place by beating Egypt in the playoff match to be played on Friday 22nd November.
