Real Oviedo striker Alfredo Ortuño today appeared before the Press to discuss the upcoming trip to face Las Palmas. The attacker said that "we always go for the three points when we play away from home. The team hasn't got the victories in recent weeks, but we have corrected quite a lot of things. You could see we were more threatening against Sporting, and more secure defensively, and I think that we can grow from having security at the back."
The team's topscorer wants to get back to hitting the back of the net, but "what matters is getting three points. I am still doing the same things, but before almost every shot I had was going in. Mariño made a good save against me this week, and a defender stopped another effort. While we are still getting chances and the team is creating, one of them will change the match." The striker said that "the squad is fine. Everyone is hungry for the improvements to translate into points, because that is what makes you believe in your daily work. We are very hungry to get wins."
He continued by saying that, "every team aims to be strong at home and pick up some points away from home, but we have had a bit of everything these three months, and now we are in a situation where we have to get three points from every match, wherever we are playing." Going into the final stage prior to the winter break, Ortuño stated that "we will go on our break with the first round of fixtures completed and we should do it in a calm position, without having to look at the table and make calculations. Hopefully we can make up points on the teams towards the bottom of the table and return in January with the feeling of being able to push upwards."
Finally, regarding the next opponent, UD Las Palmas, the striker concluded by explaining that "it's a team which plays with a lot of tempo and puts you under pressure, and they are good in tight spaces. I hope we carry the weight of the match. I think we have a chance to get something there."
