When it comes to interpreting numbers, 100 is the number of perfection, and as such everything that accompanies this number means excellence. Aside from perfection, playing one hundred matches for a football club is a synonym for loyalty, commitment and love for the badge.

The current Real Oviedo first-team squad boasts a select group of players who have reached 100 matches with the club, and this season could see the group grow even larger.

Academy graduates Lucas, Jimmy, Viti, and Borja Sánchez chased the dream of representing their beloved club ever since they were children. They are joined as members of the 100 Club by David Costas and Dani Calvo, who have both understood perfectly what it means to represent Real Oviedo. They have shown the spirit of being Oviedistas, demonstrating it at grounds all over Spain each weekend.

There are also other players in the squad who are also close to achieving the feat, as is the case of Borja Bastón and Luismi. The striker is now up to 99 matches, and will reach the landmark if he features in the weekend's fixture against Ferrol. Meanwhile, the Andalucian midfielder has played 94 matches at the time of writing.

In such an intense, demanding, and changing football, we will be fortunate to have eight players who have reached 100 matches. It is a sign of pride, commitment, identity, and a solid base on which to construct the present and future project.
