Real Oviedo travelled to Galicia this weekend, coming up against Racing de Ferrol at A Malata in Matchday 23 of LaLiga Hypermotion. After drawing with SD Amorebieta last time out, the Asturians were looking to pick up an important victory at a difficult ground and move closer to the top part of the table. The Head Coach had some players back available for today's match, and he opted for a starting eleven made up of Leo Román, Viti, Dani Calvo, Oier Luengo, Abel Bretones, Colombatto, Jimmy, Sebas Moyano, Masca, Dubasin and Borja Bastón.

Los Azules demonstrated the importance the encounter had for them during the opening minutes, with the majority of the game being played in the Racing de Ferrol half. Sebas Moyano was heavily involved in most of the Asturians' attacks, but without finding the breakthrough. Colombatto did fire a warning shot with a free kick in the 15th minute, but his effort was tipped out for a corner.

Real Oviedo remained on top in the encounter, and would have the best opportunity of the half in the 20th minute. Abel Bretones struck a venomous effort from the edge of the box which hit the post, to the despair of the travelling Oviedistas. Dani Calvo also went close to opening the scoring, heading a Colombatto corner just wide of the target. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-0, but with a sense that Carrión's team deserved more.

However, the home team struck first after the interval. After winning the ball well, the Galicians brought the ball forward and Iker Losada fired home from the edge of the box to make the score 1-0. Nonetheless, Los Azules would not take long to level things back up. Masca headed home from a Colombatto corner in the 57th minute to level the scoring at 1-1. The Portuguese forward's goal provided a morale boost for the Asturians, who were relentless in their search for a winner. Their persistence would bear fruit, with Sebas Moyano firing home a wonderful long-range strike to put his side into the lead. Real Oviedo had managed to come from behind at one of the most difficult grounds in the division.

With 15 minutes remaining for the game to end, the match had to be stopped in order that the health services treat a member of staff who had fallen ill. He received a warm ovation and huge support from everyone present at A Malata as he was taken from the field in an ambulance, before the match eventually resumed.

The referee added 17 minutes of stoppage time, and during that additional time Alemão sealed the victory. The Brazilian forward powered his way past the home defence before unleashing a strike from outside the box to send the fans crazy. The final score was 3-1, and Los Carbayones picked up three very important points which allow the fans to dream.

The win moved the Asturians on to 34 points and brought an end to Ferrol's unbeaten home run, which had been in place since 2022. Now, after enjoying today's victory, Real Oviedo move on to two consecutive home matches, against first Leganés and then Eldense.
