Real Oviedo captain, Saúl Berjón, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón after today’s training session.
The Asturian began by analysing the club’s chances of reaching the playoffs, saying that “it seems really difficult given the results that took place. We don’t have any other option than to keep going. It would be incredible, but we have to be realistic. We were not capable of sneaking in, even though we still had chances. We had many opportunities, but we were not capable.”
With respect to this situation, the Asturian stated that “it is not a disaster, but it is a disappointment. Another year has gone by in which we haven’t succeeded. The team is gutted. We are aware of what that match meant. We have to go after the six remaining points and finish in the best way possible.”
Lastly, when asked about the feelings of the fans, Saúl pointed out that “they have the same sour taste in their mouths that we have. I understand that they are gutted. We have to play two great matches, try to finish in the best way possible and think about next season,” concluded the Asturian.
