"Before anything else, I would like to say something.  I would like to settle a topic which people are discussing.  I am tired of rumours and the silly things you hear.  As the team captain, I am not going to allow them to mess us up or hurt us.  You can ask Javi (Rozada) about it any day. This can't go on, and anybody trying to hurt me knows where they can find me and say it to my face.  We have to settle this now.  It's the time to be together, united, and get through this situation.  This doesn't mean to say that we aren't taking responsibility for the situation; we are taking on the responsibility.  I am not going to talk about this topic.  I asked to be here today and hope to settle the issue with this."  These were the words with which Real Oviedo Captain Saúl Berjón began his press conference at El Requexón today.
The winger then moved on to discuss the feeling in the changing room following the change in coach.  "Whenever a coach leaves, it's difficult. We are now picking up what Ziganda wants from us, and have our minds on Lugo.  We weren't expecting it, but we are here to play, not to make decisions.  We have to absorb what Cuco wants from us."
Asked for the effect a change in coach has, the Oviedo-born winger admitted that "it's not nice.  It's a person's job, and it is all dictated by the work done on the pitch.  We want to come through this season.  The responsibility falls on us; we are the protagonists of all this.  We mustn't avoid that fact, but we have to keep moving forward.  From now on, we are only going to talk about football."
With respect to Ziganda's words at his presentation, where he had explained that the Lugo match is not a 'cup final', Saúl Berjón said that "all of that talk about 'cup finals' is complicated.  There are fourteen important matches to go, and we are lucky that there are so many left.  There are enough to achieve our objective.  We have to be clear that what is happening now is the key.  We know that, and we have to work to improve. We need to tighten up at the back and hope that the goals arrive."  In addition, regarding the huge number of fans travelling to the Anxo Carro, the Captain highlighted that "the fans always back us.  There's not much more I can say.  I hope they cheer us on, because it's important to us. The team needs to have attitude."
Asked for the reaction he expects to see after Ziganda took charge of the team, the attacker commented that "it's not about waking up or otherwise, but when you have a new coach everybody feels important again.  This is football and everybody is different, but we have to fight for the objective now, after this change.  Real Oviedo has to be safe, nothing else matters to me."
Finally, regarding Ziganda's method of working, Saúl stated that "I know what he wants.  He will be the one who says it.  Now it's time to rest, come back here tomorrow, and prepare for the match in Lugo."
