Real Oviedo midfielder, Saúl Berjón, appeared in the Press Room this morning following the team’s training session at El Requexón.
Now fully recovered from the injury which had kept him out in recent weeks, the Asturian declared himself “very happy. It’s great to be with the group right from the first day back. I was training during the holidays and I’m at 100%. I’m ready to play as soon as the Coach wants me.” Saúl said that the team is looking “good, even if the results aren’t going with it yet. We’re getting chances, but we’ve been missing a bit of luck, and that’s always necessary. We hope to get all our missing teammates back fit, because we need everybody.”
With respect to the first match of the year and the trip to Los Pajaritos, Saúl commented that, “the climate is a handicap in Soria, but it’s the same for both sides. We are going to face a good team. We are trying to stick to our idea of football and to keep doing things in the same way, because that’s the route to victories. I’m sure we’ll start winning.”
Asked about Anquela and how he’s been since the return after the Winter Break, the winger highlighted that, “the Coach is never going to change. He’s demanding the best things possible from us, in terms of the intensity and organisation we have been missing.”
Regarding the Winter Break and the moment it arrived at, Saúl reasoned that, “it’s been good for us because, although we weren’t playing badly, the results weren’t coming. Now we’ll see how the first match of the year goes. The objective for all of us is clear. We all want to go up, just like twenty other teams in the division. We must never lose our desire nor our hope. We have to give everything right until the end, and the target will seem closer when the victories start coming.”
