Rozada: "We have to be true to our philosophy"

Faced with a match against Mutilvera, the Oviedo-born coach believes that "we cannot change our identity," assuring that "the boys are motivated"

Real Oviedo Vetusta's coach, Javi Rozada, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón following the team's last training session on Asturian soil.

The Oviedan trainer recognizes that "the team is facing a special week, you can feel the importance of this match. It is a distinct week; you notice the positivity from the players. The boys are motivated and aware of the responsibility this match carries."

Regarding the steps needed to get through the play off, the Oviedan believes that "the most important thing is to score there. We must try to be brave, to be the team that we were during the season. We cannot change our identity. We have to be true to our philosophy." Additionally, regarding the affect playing on artificial turf can have on the team, Javi Rozada understands that "it is not the ideal setting, but we've played on artificial turf here. I believe that it will not be a determining factor. We have to adapt."

The reserve team's coach was asked about how he feels about the team playing the first of two matches as the visiting team. He assured that "we were hoping for that, since for the return game, we will be surrounded by our people. It's important. We have to go to Pamplona to compete and to seek out a positive result."

Speaking of the team from Navarre and what he expects to find at Mutilva, the blue coach states that "they are a complicated and very competitive opponent. Mutilvera were promoted two years ago after eliminating three strong opponents, and that's a sign that they will be a complicated team. They have high-level players, and they are going to make things difficult.

Finally, regarding what a promotion would mean for the club, Javi Rozada affirmed that "it would be extremely important on every level. This year, we have taken a big leap as the reserve team, with players on the first team. Imagine what it would be like to play in Segunda B. Now, there are players who are prepared to jump up to the first team, but if we are closer to the division they are in, it would be pivotal in order to be able to provide people," he concluded.
