Real Oviedo striker, Salomón Rondón, was presented this Monday at the facilities of Central Lechera Asturiana, one of the sponsors of the club and the centenary.

He was accompanied by José Armando Tellado, representative of Central Lechera Asturiana, and on behalf of Real Oviedo by Managing Director Agustín Lleida and Director of Football Roberto Suárez.

The Venezuelan international expressed his joy to be at this new stage in his career: "I'm quite well, I’m happy to have arrived. I'm grateful for this opportunity to return to Spain. I've already been training for two days and it's been very intense," said Rondón.

The striker then had words of gratitude for Jesús Martínez, President of Grupo Pachuca, for the role he played in his arrival in Oviedo, highlighting that "he has been fundamental in my return to Spain. We had talked about this when I first arrived at Pachuca and it became a reality. I am very grateful, I am very motivated."

With an extensive international career behind him, Rondón says he is arriving at a great time: "I'm 35 years old, but better than ever. My numbers speak for themselves, especially at international level. Age is just a number, I feel great physically and mentally. I'm coming here with the intention of competing, and doing so in the best way possible.”

Concerning his objectives as a striker, he was clear: "For a striker, the most important thing is to score goals, that's obvious. I don’t set myself targets, the most important thing is to help the team and give the best of myself. I've been doing well up to this point in my career and I come today with the same intention to contribute."

He also took time to recall his first spell in Spain and the connection he already had to Oviedo before wearing the blue shirt. He recounted that "for example, in Las Palmas I had Saúl Berjón and Dani López as teammates. I have friends in Oviedo and I knew the club. I only played against Sporting in Asturias, but I'll get to know the club. As of right now, what I've seen I’ve liked a lot".

One of the most special moments of his arrival was his reunion with Santi Cazorla, with whom he shared a changing room at Málaga. Regarding this moment, the Venezuelan admitted that "it was very emotional to meet Cazorla again, I haven't seen him for many years. We met in England and he's a great person. I'm really looking forward to working with him in Oviedo. When you have experience you have the chance to guide and manage a group of young players. Santi is the best example and I'm here to help, that's the goal".

Salomón Rondón is already working under the orders of Veljko Paunović and joins Real Oviedo with enthusiasm and ambition for the return to the First Division.
