The Real Oviedo Foundation's International Department is based at the FUNDOMA facilities, where players from all around the world come together, united by Real Oviedo and by football. In recent months the residence has experienced exponential growth, and has become a reference point for talented young players everywhere who are looking to continue their development.
The Real Oviedo International Department is taking firm steps, with projects and agreements to export talent, working methods and the philosophy of our own youth academy around the world. Its commendable work consists of personal and social education and development. There are currently a total of 33 footballers in Real Oviedo's Fundoma residence, with the figure set to rise to 45 by the end of March.
Footballers from Senegal, Nigeria, Colombia, Chile, Japan, Mexico, the USA, Canada, Panama, Uganda, Brazil, and more, live their lives together around sport, friendship, and the affectionate bonds developed on a daily basis in the residence. In FUNDOMA there is a great family atmosphere, which sees the older heads look after the youngest players, and the younger players brighten up the days of the older players.
The latest to arrive are two young Mexican players with Asturian heritage, and four Japanese youngsters, three of whom are back in Asturias for a second time, as part of Real Oviedo's agreement with Wakatake Group.
The growth of the International Department is not stopping here, given that a group of Canadian players will arrive in Asturias shortly, while projects are also being put into place in Nigeria, Ghana, Oman, and the USA. There is also a new Real Oviedo Soccer School being opened in Panama, while further projects are being carried out in Canada.
All of this is undoubtedly fantastic news for Real Oviedo and its Foundation, which is immersed in task of expanding our brand around the world. Football is the main driver behind this, with the club's values a key pillar in all of the activities undertaken.
