The Real Oviedo Juvenil and Infantil sides have, since 23rd March, been participating in the oldest and most prestigious international football tournament in the USA, the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup, and one of the teams yesterday emphasised the fine efforts of both teams.

The Juvenil side were eliminated in the group stage after one victory and two defeats against CF Monterrey Rayados, EC Vitoria and Atlanta United. Meanwhile, Infantil reached the final, having triumphed on penalties in the semi-final. The big moment arrived for our young players last night (Spanish time), as they faced up to Tigres in a fine setting. The match started well, with Real Oviedo taking the lead during the early stages, with Pedro grabbing the goal. However, in the end Tigres managed to equalise and then score a winner. This left Real Oviedo to claim the runner-up prize, with both sets of our youth team players giving a wonderful impression of the club.

Both teams will now return to Spain to continue the final passage of the regular league season, having enjoyed a wonderful experience, as the club took part in its first ever international youth team tournament.
