Real Oviedo winger, Aarón Ñíguez, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón following the team’s morning training session.
Having returned to the matchday squad last weekend after recovering from a muscular knock, the winger declared that, “I am fine physically. I played the other day and I felt good, comfortable. A break was useful for me to recharge my batteries.”
Aarón will have another opportunity to get game-time this weekend against CD Lugo, in a match which he described as, “important, since the league is becoming tight. We are going to a difficult ground and we need to find a way to pick up points. Lugo are a strong team, who play good football and like to have the ball. We need to be capable of minimising their strengths to get the three points.”
Asked about a possible change in formation for the match at the Anxo Carro, the attacker said that, “it’s good to have a few systems. We need to choose the best one to get the win.” In addition, with respect to his positional preference in attack, Aarón highlighted that, “the important thing is to play. That’s what any player wants. As long as I’m in the eleven I will be happy. I want to contribute.”
Regarding last weekend’s match against Alcorcón, the attacker pointed out that, “we had chances, but we couldn’t convert them. Despite the defeat, the feelings were positive, and now it’s all about receiving some luck in terms of scoring.”
Talking about the attacking trio he forms part of, along with Saúl Berjón and Diego Fabbrini, Aarón said that, “we want connections in attack, and to be together. If we can achieve that, then we will have more chance of getting the win.”
Asked about what the team needs the most, Aarón highlighted that, above all else, “we want to get three points. We deserve it. We are going to try to get the victory through hard work. We are in good spirits. We are still only two points off the playoff and there’s a long way to go. We need to take it a game at a time, and think only about the next match,” he concluded.
