Real Oviedo picked three vital points against a direct rival on the top spots of the table. It was the best reward for all the effort and hard work carried out by the Blues, who took the lead in the first half and had to put their heart and soul into the game during the second half to hold on their lead being one man down.

Generelo lined up to forwards up front. Toché and Koné were together again in the front line, but it was Josete who scored in a set piece just before the 15th minute mark. Susaeta whipped in a corner kick that Borja Valle connected to shoot twice on goal. Razak punched off, but Josete managed to net in the winninig goal that made Real Oviedo get three hard fought points. Córdoba CF reacted promptly and tested Miño, who made a fine performance getting another clean sheet. Koné gave a pass to Borja Valle in a one to one chance before Razak, but the assist was too long. Once again, Koné had another chance in the penalty box but his shot went wide. Soon after, the Ivorian striker tested Razak with a hard shot close to the post that the goalkeeper cleared to corner kick.

In the second half, Córdoba CF had their clearest chance in the game but Miño made a great save on the goal. Then, Héctor Verdés got a double yellow and was sent off so Generelo brought Dani Bautista on subtituting Toché. Real Oviedo got full throttle in defence without forgetting about the counter whenever they had the chance. That was how Real Oviedo got to the Andalusian goal, Borja Valle had the best Blues chance when his shot went narrowly wide after being brilliantly assisted by Koné. Oltra's side went full on in search of an equaliser, but Real Oviedo defended consistently and Miño produced another fine save.

The Carlos Tartiere supporters got behind Real Oviedo and all three points remained home, consolidating los Carbayones on the promotion play off spots against Cordoba CF, who had started the game just one point behind the Blues.
