Real Oviedo attacking player Jorge Pombo today appeared in the Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere, following yesterday's game against Girona.
Pombo began by analysing his Real Oviedo debut, saying that "I came on in the final stages of a crazy, back and forth game. I felt good and up to speed, but have to take it little by little. I am happy about my debut, particularly with it coming at home."
Regarding Real Oviedo's performance, the midfielder admitted that "we were lacking the finishing touch. We had chances, but they didn't go in. We have to focus on the positives. We got a point at home and have kept the unbeaten run going. We have to focus on Zaragoza and on getting three points there."
Asked about Obeng's dismissal, Pombo reasoned that "it's the referee's decision. I can't say anything, because if I say what I think then I am going to get into trouble. He knows the reason behind the card. At the end it's an individual passage of play and we can't get into his head."
With respect to the team's start to the season, he highlighted that "we have a lot of new players, a family, and we see our results each day. The team is improving fast, but we have to be more clinical in front of goal."
Finally, ahead of his return to face former club Real Zaragoza, Pombo stated that "going home is always special. It's another match, and we are going there with complete desire to win."
