Real Oviedo full back Lucas Ahijado answered questions from the Press this morning. He began by evaluating the fact that he has played every minute of competitive football so far this season, saying that "I am feeling very proud and confident. At the end of the day you work to be able to help the team at the weekend, and I am happy that my work is being reflected and that I am able to play." Regarding his competition with Carlos Isaac, Lucas said that "he's tough competition. It's hard to get a place, and I've been lucky so far to be able to help on the pitch. I hope it remains that way."
Regarding the increasingly common feature of a large number of Asturians in the starting eleven, Lucas said that "we should be proud to have some many academy graduates involved, but we are also proving that we can play. It's fantastic for the city." On a personal level, the right back believes that "I can improve in many areas. My aim is to grow each week and help the team however I can." Lucas stressed that the team is only thinking about "Zaragoza, and about getting three points there. It's going to be a very difficult and even match. They have a lot of shots. We will have to defend very well, stick together, and be focused."
Asked about Ziganda and his role in Lucas' footballing career, the defender said that "if he's not the most important person, he's definitely one of the most important. He has helped me a lot throughout this time. He's always shown belief in me and supported me."
