Real Oviedo fell to a painful defeat in Cordoba. This result leaves them five points off the playoff places with two games remaining, meaning that it is almost impossible for them to reach the top 6.

Oviedo fell behind inside the first minute of the encounter, with Cordoba making the score 1-0. Despite Toché going close on one occasion, the away side failed to react adequately, and Cordoba doubled their lead after 10 minutes. Real Oviedo did then win a penalty for a foul on Christian Fernández, but the side’s top scorer Toché was denied by the home
goalkeeper. Having failed to convert their opportunity to get back into the game, Oviedo fell further behind before the half-time interval, with Cordoba adding a third goal and effectively sealing victory. An effort from Nando struck the crossbar just before the interval.

At the start of the second half, Hierro brought on Saúl Berjón in place of Torró, and the substitute was next to test the Cordoba keeper with a long-range strike. However, Cordoba then made the score 4-0. Linares was brought on, and shortly afterwards Saúl cut the deficit to 4-1. In added time, Linares converted the second penalty of the game, making the final score 4-2.
