Our objective for the month of December, as we explained just over a week ago, was to help, support and care for our own this Christmas. The campaign to raise funds for the Asturias Food Bank has now drawn to an end and has proven a great success thanks to the collaboration of APARO, Fondo Norte, and all the Oviedistas who have contributed their help, and it's now time to move onto the next target.
'Oviedistas support #LosNuestros (Our Own) this Christmas' is the name for the club's second project and it has one clear objective: to show our support and love for businesses, shops, and the hospitality sector in Oviedo. Following truly difficult months, and ahead of the most special holidays of the year, the city's commercial and hospitality sectors need us now more than ever. For this reason, one young Oviedista has written her card to the Three Kings, recognising that they have "a lot of work to do" due to the virus, but asking for a few very specific presents. She has asked them to help the shop in her neighbourhood, her mother's friend's flower store, the bar her father took her to from time to time, and her grandad's friend, even though the latter is "not a big fan" of Christmas presents.
Our intention is to, in a symbolic way, send a reminder of the importance of all of our help when it comes to collaborating in restarting the sectors which were most affected by the restrictive measures introduced to deal with the health crisis, as well as to show them our love and support.
For this reason, this second campaign is now underway, with the countdown now showing less than two weeks for Christmas Eve, and with the aim of HELPING #LosNuestros this Christmas.
