Santi Cazorla Signs for Real Oviedo

The academy product signs for one season, earning, at his own request, the minimum wage permitted by LaLiga

Real Oviedo has agreed a deal to sign Santi Cazorla on a contract running until June 2024.
 
Santiago Cazorla González is 38 years old and was born on 13th December 1984, in Lugo de Llanera, Asturias. Having come through the youth ranks at Real Oviedo, the midfielder has acquired vast experience of both national and international football, playing in the top flight in Spain with Villarreal, Recreativo de Huelva, and Málaga. He also represented Arsenal, and spent last season with Al Sadd in Qatar.
 
The new signing, a hero of the Real Oviedo fanbase, arrives on a free transfer and will earn the minimum amount permitted by LaLiga Hypermotion for the Segunda División. In addition, the local lad will cede all his image rights to his beloved club, with the only condition being that 10% of shirt sales be donated entirely to investment in the club's youth academy.
 
Santi Cazorla has played more than 450 professional matches and a total of 33,872 minutes, picking up 2 Intertoto Cups, 3 Community Shields, and 2 European Championship titles during his 81 appearances for the Spanish national team.
