Real Oviedo left back Mossa appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón this afternoon following the team's return to training.
The defender described the feeling in the team as one of "pain and worry, obviously. The results haven't been good, and we've gone on a bad run after a few matches where it seemed as if the team was improving. We have put in bad performances away from home and we are worried. What we have to do is win; there can be no excuses. That's what the fans and squad want. We have to do our talking on the pitch on Sunday. We have to think only about that match and about winning."
Asked about the Coach, Mossa explained that "he is strong, but worried like the rest of us, of course. We know that what the fans want is to see the team win and it's normal for them to show their anger and to be angry and worried. That's how it should be."
With respect to the club's situation, the defender was clear that "I don't care what goes on elsewhere; they are just excuses. The people who play are those of us on the inside and we're the ones who have to get us out of it."
Asked about Saúl's absence in recent matches, Mossa stated that "it's clear that when we are all available then the team will perform better. Saúl is a match-winner and he's proven it, but we can't depend on one player. We have a good-enough squad to show that Saúl's absence doesn't affect us too much."
Speaking about coming on from the bench, the defender said that "I feel good when we win. I know that I came on in adverse circumstances (on Sunday), but I gave everything I could. I did what the Coach asked of me, but I am only happy when the team wins. I would swap playing for the team winning right now."
Finally, regarding a message for the fans, Mossa was clear that "the ones who have to speak to them, prove something and give motivation is us to them. We have to engage them. We know that they will be engaged even if we give them very little, but we are the ones who have to motivate them to do so." The next match is against Rayo Vallecano, and he concluded that "we can't look at their name. It's all about proving yourself on the field and together we can compete against anyone."
