Real Oviedo defender, Mossa, appeared in the Press Room this morning following the team’s training session at El Requexón.

The left back made no excuses after yesterday’s defeat in Soria. “When you lose a game like we did yesterday, it’s because you did a lot of things badly, and we have to correct our mistakes. Numancia emerged much stronger than we did. Right from the first passage of play they were getting shots in on goal.” Asked whether the defeat hurt more due to results elsewhere during this matchday, Mossa stated that, “it doesn’t matter what the others do if we don’t get any points. The matchdays are even, but I don’t like to focus on that. It would show weakness. At the end of the day, the important thing is that we pick up points. Right now, we feel pessimistic, but the numbers show that we still have a great chance and it all depends on us. We are three points off with fifteen still to play for, and it’s not crazy to think that we can achieve it. We have to hang onto that fact and turn defeats into victories in the matches we have left.”

With respect to the next game against a recently-relegated Lorca side, Mossa issued a warning that, “they beat Nàstic yesterday and Granada not long ago. We have complete respect for Lorca. As always the key is that we are ourselves and that we perform at the level that we need to.”

Regarding his return to the starting line-up on the left wing, the Valencian explained that, “when the Coach makes changes it’s because he’s looking for something different in the team. I try to adapt to what he asks for. More important than individual matters are the five games remaining, and the most important thing of all is always the team. We need to be strong and try to change the situation.”

Asked about the goals conceded from set pieces, Mossa stated that, “it hurts however they go in, because they are goals against the team. Yesterday they were from set pieces, but they all hurt.”

Finally, going into the five remaining matches, the full back insisted that, “I always try to be optimistic. It’s not crazy and we need to be clear in our minds. This all depends on us,” he concluded.
