Mossa: “Perform at our best”

The left back, who is available for Sunday’s match, highlights that “victories bring confidence, calmness and belief in what we are doing”

Real Oviedo full back, José María Angresola, “Mossa”, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today.

Having been withdrawn from this morning’s training match against the B team, Mossa assured that, “it was a precaution. I got a knock last week, and little by little the discomfort is going.”

Asked about the many absences the team is suffering, the defender reasoned that, “it’s never good to lose players, since we all know that our levels rise when we have more bodies available. We have a lot out at the moment, and it’s not good for the team.”

Regarding his chances of starting this weekend, Mossa highlighted that, “I am always available, but it’s the Coach who decides.”

With respect to the run the team is putting together, with two wins from the last two matches, the ‘Carbayón’ defender admitted that, “victories bring confidence, calmness and belief in what we are doing. It was only ever about small details, and now the goals are going in. It seems that luck is on our side.”

Asked about Extremadura, Mossa underlined that, “we put in a good performance against them at home. We played well. They took a point off us, but the important thing is to be prepared to perform at our best.”

Following the last LaLiga match, against Tenerife, Mossa said that, “we were very good. It’s hard to stop your opponent from having any chances, since there are no teams which are clearly superior, but we weren’t really threatened the other day.”

Regarding Extremadura’s recent sale of Enric Gallego to Huesca, the full back believes that, “at the end of the day, the less players they have the better! We have a lot of respect for Extremadura and they are playing very well at home. They will make things difficult for us. It will be a very hard-fought match.”

Finally, when asked about the impact of playing at what will be a new stadium for the majority of the players, in the Francisco de la Hera, Mossa concluded that, “I’ve never played there, but we have to adapt to the ground. The most competitive side is the one which adapts to the match most quickly.”
