Real Oviedo full back, Mossa, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón following the first team’s return to training.
With several days having passed since the match in Albacete, the Valencian has evaluated the match, saying that, “we went into it aware of the danger. Despite them being bottom it was never going to be easy, and that’s how it turned out. They made the most of individual moments and got into the game. The equaliser cost us an opportunity. We will focus on this in order to improve in this area.”
About the even nature of the competition in the opening matches of the league season, the Real Oviedo defender stated that, “this league is like that. We cannot lack respect for any team, every team carries a threat. The division was even last year, and it’s going the same way this year.” In addition, regarding the heavy schedule Los Carbayones now face, with four matches in twelve days, Mossa said that, “with the number of matches that we have in a short period of time, if we are able to put together a good run then we will emerge stronger.”
Asked about his contribution to the team and the opportunities given to him by Juan Antonio Anquela each week, the left back said that “I had two good opportunities. I think I made the most of them, and that means that I feel calm. When you’re not playing you have to look at what you’re doing badly, but I feel calm because I think I am doing everything well. When you come here you want to play every match, and the coach then offers you chances as he sees fit. It’s up to you to make the most of them.”
With respect to whether the match against Albacete was the poorest performance from the team so far this season, the Real Oviedo full back believes that “very often we base our view of a game on the result. If it
was our worst match, we still had chances. If they hadn’t had their chances then the result would have been different.”
Finally, asked about the injuries the team is facing and what it means for the group going into each match, Mossa said that “I don’t like talking about injuries. The more of us fit the better. The injuries are what they
are, and we have to compete every match. We have gone through a difficult run and we must carry on. We have a great squad for the challenges we are going to face, and we must focus on that,” concluded the full back.
