The Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere this morning hosted the official presentation of Matheus Aiás as a new Real Oviedo player.
The forward was accompanied by the club's Acting President, Manuel Paredes, as he appeared before the media and discussed his feelings after arriving in Oviedo. "I'm feeling very good. They've given me a very warm welcome. I am happy with my teammates." In addition, regarding the delay in joining up with the team, the Brazilian commented that "it was because of a problem with paperwork, everything got held up. In a few days I will be ready to do what I've come here to do. I talked to our Coach and did specific training work. I'm doing well physically because of the work I have been doing. I will be ready to play as soon as the Coach sees fit."
Asked about the move, the new signing stated that "I'm coming here very excited by the project. I am happy to be here. I want to do as well as possible for the team. It's marvellous to play in front of these fans. I experienced it two years ago. Pressure is good for a footballer; it makes you grow."
Finally, with respect to his goal target for the season, Matheus highlighted that "I always set myself a target when preseason starts. Strikers live off goals, but the collective objective is more important. If we are good as a group, then individual success will also come. I will work to make the goals arrive."
