Real Oviedo right back Lucas Ahijado today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
How did you feel after several months without league action?
- It didn't feel bad. I felt good, but we can improve. We are working on it for the next match.
How did you see yesterday's match?
- We were solid in defence and dealt with the chances that they created, but in attack we could give a little bit more.
When did the Coach tell you that you would be starting?
- He told me the day before and I was very happy. Hungry and excited, and thinking about the match right from when he first told me.
Diegui, Nieto, even Sangalli... Are you getting the feeling that the right back slot is cursed this season?
- At the end of the day it's the Coach that decides. I work to get an opportunity, and if the Coach doesn't pick you then you have to keep working. I ended up enjoying it and playing with my teammates.
The team created very little in attack. Was that due to the break, or a lack of fluency in the team?*
- The break plays a part. The team can feel that it's been a long time without playing and then had little time to prepare. We are lacking that coordination in our movements that we'd been working on previously.
How was the Tartiere without fans?
Cold. The fans always support us and it's difficult not having them there. You notice the lack of fans.
Going into the Dépor match, what do you think is the most urgent thing to improve on?
- We have to improve in attack. In defence we did well, and we worked well. Having a bit more in attack would move us closer to getting the three points.
