On a day like today, March 10, in the year 1918, the Llamaquique stadium was reopened after undergoing various improvement works by the Real Stadium Club Ovetense.

The Real Stadium, one of the founding clubs of Real Oviedo, in its early days had played its matches in the Hospicio meadow, before moving to play its games at the Llamaquique football field.

The improvements carried out at the Llamaquique field and inaugurated in March 1918 included the installation of a fence separating the playing field from the area designated for spectators. Additionally, behind the fence, a continuous bench was placed around the playing field, creating numerous seating areas. Furthermore, the Real Stadium made improvements to the playing field to eliminate some undulations and other irregularities it presented.

To mark the inauguration of the improvements, a friendly match was played between the Real Stadium Club Ovetense and Unión Deportiva Racing de Gijón, which ended with the victory of the visiting team.

In 1923, the Stadium would leave the Llamaquique football field to settle in a new ground, the Vetusta stadium.

In the year 1926, the Real Stadium Club Ovetense and the Real Club Deportivo de Oviedo would merge to create Real Oviedo.
